The match opens with AJ Styles and LA Knight facing off in the center of the ring. AJ gains early control with a kick and a headlock, but Knight quickly fights out with elbows and responds with a headlock of his own. After being whipped into the ropes, Knight takes AJ down with a clothesline and sends him outside the ring. Knight follows him out to slam AJ’s head into the announce table before bringing the action back inside. As Knight attempts to re-enter, AJ lands a kick, though Knight quickly counters by throwing AJ back outside and following up with a sliding baseball kick.
Following a commercial break, both competitors collide with a simultaneous cross body in the middle of the ring. Upon rising, Knight takes control with right hands, a running knee, and a superplex off the top rope, though AJ kicks out of the subsequent pin attempt. AJ responds to a charge with a back elbow, then leaps off the middle rope to execute a moonsault, landing on his feet to fluidly transition into an inverted DDT. Knight manages to kick out of the pinfall attempt.
AJ positions himself on the ring apron to attempt the Phenomenal Forearm. Knight dodges the airborne attack, causing AJ to land on his feet, and immediately counters with a powerslam followed by a jumping elbow drop. Knight attempts his signature BFT finisher, but AJ escapes to the apron. When Knight reaches for him, AJ snaps Knight’s neck over the top rope and sneakily pokes him in the eye out of the referee’s view. Capitalizing on the illegal advantage, AJ springboards off the top rope to land the Phenomenal Forearm, securing the pinfall victory.
