The match begins with immediate intensity as Gunther shoves LA Knight, who responds with a flurry of right hands. After counteracting Gunther’s early powerbomb attempt with a back body drop, LA Knight tries for the Blunt Force Trauma (BFT), forcing Gunther to retreat outside where he gets struck by a baseball slide. Following a commercial break, the momentum shifts back and forth; Knight trips Gunther to avoid an attack, though Gunther quickly takes control by slamming Knight into the turnbuckle and wearing him down with arm bars and heavy chest chops. Knight turns the tide by dodging a chop to deliver a flying clothesline and a neckbreaker. Although Gunther attempts to lock in a sleeper hold during a pin-reversal exchange, Knight breaks free and powers through with an Attitude Adjustment and a burning hammer, scoring a close near-fall.

As the action continues after another commercial break, both competitors exchange brutal chops in the center of the ring. Knight corners Gunther with kicks and a running knee, later countering a sleeper hold attempt with a back suplex. Demonstrating his agility, Knight leaps off the ropes to deliver a top-rope elbow drop for a pin attempt, but Gunther kicks out. Knight tries for another BFT, but Gunther retaliates with a German suplex, a neck twist, and a stiff clothesline. When Gunther ascends the turnbuckle, Knight meets him at the top for a superplex attempt, only to be shoved down. Capitalizing on the opening, Gunther hits two consecutive top-rope splashes followed by a devastating powerbomb, yet Knight remarkably manages to kick out of the pinfall attempt.
