The match begins with Shinsuke Nakamura delivering a knee and a kick to LA Knight before rolling out of the ring to avoid a right hand. Outside, LA Knight follows, but Nakamura catches him with a running knee and throws him back inside. Nakamura then positions LA Knight on the second rope and executes a sliding release German suplex. Trapped in the corner, LA Knight counters Nakamura’s strike with a kick to the face, follows up with a clothesline that sends Nakamura over the top rope to the floor, and tops it off with a baseball slide.
Returning from commercial break, LA Knight lands a jumping elbow for a two-count. He sets Nakamura up on the top rope, but Nakamura slides underneath him, lands a series of elbows, and hits a back suplex from the second rope for another near fall. LA Knight recovers with a clothesline, but when he tries to charge Nakamura in the corner, Nakamura sidesteps and strikes him in the neck with a kick. LA Knight halts Nakamura’s momentum on the top turnbuckle by leaping up to execute a superplex, immediately following it with a diving elbow drop off the top rope.
LA Knight attempts his finisher, the BFT, but Nakamura escapes to the outside and grabs a steel chair. LA Knight wrests the chair away from Nakamura, but as the referee warns him against a disqualification, a distracted LA Knight is struck by Nakamura, who throws him back into the ring. Nakamura grabs the chair and enters the ring, but the referee intervenes and pulls the weapon from his hands.
As LA Knight charges with a clothesline, Nakamura dodges, forcing LA Knight to abruptly stop to avoid striking the referee. Turning back toward his opponent, LA Knight dodges Nakamura’s attempt to spray red mist, causing the mist to hit the referee instead. LA Knight rolls Nakamura up for a pin, but the referee is incapacitated and rolls out of the ring. Nakamura capitalizes with a leg drop to the back of LA Knight’s neck and retrieves the chair once more. However, LA Knight boots the steel chair directly into Nakamura’s face and delivers a BFT onto the chair. A replacement referee rushes down to the ring to count the pinfall, securing the victory for LA Knight.
