The match begins with LA Knight dodging Fatu’s initial strike and landing several right hands before spearing him in the corner. LA Knight follows with a neckbreaker and attempts the BFT, but Fatu counters, landing on his hands to face Knight before flattening him with a pop-up Samoan drop and a spinning elbow. Knight counters a sunset flip attempt from Fatu, but Fatu takes him down with a crossbody. Knight turns the momentum with a dropkick and a modified baseball slide, sending Fatu outside, but upon returning to the ring, Fatu catches Knight’s leaping attack from the second rope with a powerslam for a two-count.
Fatu attempts a running senton, but Knight blocks it with raised knees. Knight counters another pop-up Samoan drop into a modified arm drag, then dodges a corner splash, sending Fatu face-first into the ring post. Knight relentlessly targets Fatu, driving his shoulder into the ring posts twice before landing a running clothesline and a flying elbow drop from the top rope, which Fatu kicks out of.
Fatu recovers with a superkick, but Knight trips him on the top rope to interrupt a moonsault attempt. After trading strikes, Knight executes a massive German suplex off the ropes, turning Fatu inside out, but Fatu kicks out of the pin attempt. Fatu blocks a BFT, retaliates with another superkick, and nails three running hip attacks in the corner before crushing Knight with a top-rope Swanton. Knight kicks out, prompting Fatu to lay in a series of headbutts amid alternating crowd chants. Fatu leaps from the top rope for a moonsault, but Knight counters by catching him in mid-air with the BFT. Knight covers Fatu, who manages to save the match by placing his arm on the bottom rope.
Knight climbs the ropes to press his advantage, but Fatu cuts him off with a superkick and executes a Samoan drop from the second rope. Capitalizing on the momentum, Fatu hits a top-rope moonsault, quickly ascends the ropes again, and lands a second consecutive moonsault to secure the pinfall victory.
